This cooler, overcast weather is just what the doctor ordered for a spike in the springer bite.
After releasing the first two fish this morning on account they were not hatchery fish we ended up with a limit of spring chinook salmon.

Some people might even call these fish "Boots", I would. In fact, if I didn't see it myself I wouldn't have beleived it either. Even though these fish were dark they cut beautifully. On the inside they look just like a Columbia salmon.
Since they will not be spawning until September and October they will have nice, firm, quality meat into early July.
