For the past week me and my clients have been chasing sturgeon down in the Columbia estuary with some very good results, limits for just about all of them. We even caught one oversize of about eight feet long.
For my boat I haven't really gotten into many of those bites were you can't even get more than two rods out before "Fish On!” We’ve had to cover a lot of water but we've had good days and caught some real nice fish in the mid to upper 50's.

Mike Handy (middle) caught a 59 incher, our biggest keeper last week
A typical day would be get a couple keepers in the deep water by town and then get another by Young’s Bay and another out on the flats or maybe get into them up above Tounge point and then find the last one down across from Hammond. The hot spots have seemed to last only a day or two and then the fish move out and you have to find them.
Anchovies have been our best bait most days.

I even got my family out one morning and my daughter caught a nice 47 incher all by herself
