With the unseasonable cold weather we've had the Willamette temperature has dropped back down into the low 50's making for some ideal fishing conditions, and people are all starting to quit fishing for them.

Boys and girls, if you are willing to be mobil there is still up to two months left to fish for springers, and the success rate is a lot higher than back in March when people were getting the springer bug and waisting a lot of time out there for sometimes few fish.

Here is a threaded prawn. You can run it as is or with a spin glo or a spinner blade in front of it.

As the season progresses the preferred menu will go from herring or eggs to prawns and hardware.

And with only around 20,000 fish over the falls there is still something like 50,000 fish to come.

There's been a real mixed bag of fish in the river, from jacks and smaller adults that are eight to ten pounds all the way up to fish over thirty. We've also caught chromers, some that are dusky and one that even had one sea lice left on it. For some reason there's been a fair number of unclipped fish in the catch too, we've had the release several a day.

Me and Tesha have even gotten to bring in a couple.
