I had planned this day for a month, didn't book anyone so that I could to some R and R fishing for springers. So two buddies, my dad and I hit the Columbia for a morning of "reserch".

Started the day out in a downpoor but soon the weather settled down. It was quite for a while and then Sam's rod starts dancing. "Fish On!"

Turned out to be a seven pound steelhead on the end of his K15 Kwikfish.

Then the clouds parted, and the sun broke out. It wasn't for long but that sun must have lit up my Kwikfish good enough to turn on this fresh, chrome spring chinook. My first of many for this year!

The sun didn't last long though, black clouds moved in and so did the thunder and rain. One more take down that didnt stay on long enough to set on and then we headed for home.

Springer for dinner tonight! My mouth just waters everytime I even think of eating a spring chinook. So moist and juicy, they are the very best eating fish in the world, period.

Today was just a fun trip so I'm not giving up on the spring steelhead action just yet, I've got lots of that to do still. I like to wait and start booking my salmon trips in April.

If you are interested in a spring salmon trip don't wait any longer as I only have a few openings in April and May. June is also excellent and still half open but that wont last long either.

Every season I get flooded with last minute calls for trips that I simply just can't fit in so let me help you plan an "Exceptional" trip Today!
