My family and I went out the afternoon to a local pond, and the fish were biting well. Good old fashioned hand dug worms did the trick. I think it is still a bit cold in the mainbody of the pond ,but up in the shallows is another story. We got 4 1-3lb. Bass and some hog blue gills.

Are the brightly colored large fish males or females?What species is it, are there more than one strain in the valley. I'm sure they are all introducted right, non native.
