It's so nice starting out a morning with the sound of birds chirping instead of a roaring wind in seemingly lifeless tree tops. The drab grays and browns are giving way to fresh new green leaves.

The afternoons are warm with the distant hum of someone cutting their lawn.

Then the peace is broken by the excited yell, "FISH ON!"

And best of all the spring steelhead are in

Absolutely beautiful natives, brood stock hatchery and early summers make up spring steelheading. And there's always that chance of an early spring chinook too.

These spring steelhead can be just stacked in a hole or two or they can be plentiful but scattered, requiring covering lots of water and using several different techniques.

With the warm water they are quite agressive and and fight like mad.

These anglers enjoyed hooking steelhead into the double digits and took home these hatchery fish

The first half of March has been great with so many nice fish. I look forward to the rest of the month and April too.
