I have not look yet for saved waypoints, but when you turn the unit on it says, "This unit belongs to:______________ This can be returned to: <address>". Unfortunately the owner filled out a gag name and no address. I don't want to post the gag name because that might be a another good way for the rightful owner to identify it if they do not know the serial number. When the unit is turned on, the last place that it tracked was near Mill Plain and Grand in Vancouver. A punk approached me in a bar on Jantzen Beach to buy it. I like to find a good bargain, but the next day it seemed pretty clear that it was hot.

UPDATE:

This bad karma GPS has been sitting on a shelf at home for 4 months now and I just got around to contacting Garmin. They said the unit was not reported as lost, nor was it ever registered. They said it was mine free and clear. I guess I can start using it now!
