I understand, through a friend, that there's a new scent out for salmon sold at Fisherman's Marine & Outdoors. It's suppose to be catching more fish. Does anyone know what it's called and is it really working?

I'm not sure which one that you are talking about but I am sold on Mike's gel scent. I use the shrimp for steelhead and the herring for salmon. It stays on plugs forever and I have caught a lot of fish using it. I have used the herring scent on kwickfish and caught just as many using it as the people that are wrapping them with sardines and herring. If there is a better one I would sure like to know what it is.

The newest scent that I've seen at FMS is Ultra Bite.

You can search the archives and find several threads about it.

Lure Dragger,
Try this for your sardines:
Take a red salmon egg cure, mix it with water to absorb the powder (not a paste, but a thin liquid). Soak your sardine fillets for 2-3 days before your trip, then wrap the qwik fish like normal. These will stay on longer (they are much tougher) and will put out a very nice scent trail.

Good luck,
Scott

there is a new scent, fishermens has it. I can`t remember the name but I smelled it and can tell you that if you spill ONE drop in your boat you will want to sell that boat ASAP!!  and if you were to spill the whole bottle am not sure you would be allowed to bring your boat back to the ramp

ZaQ, I knew it was only a matter of time...

A couple months ago I was @ the bait/tackle shop in Klickitat and the owner was telling me about the virtues of Krill scent. According to him the hatcheries were putting it in the water to get the salmon and steelhead used to the scent in the ocean so they would home in on it for food. I regret buying a bottle or two. And it sure do stink.
Could this be the elusive scent?

The new scent is called Pickle Juice and it works great at removing unwanted carrot milk stains.
