This story is from 2001 Alsea tidewater fishing.
I was fishing with Crambone, pulling cut plug herring, fishing the lower river between the Hippie house and Drift Creek. I had already landed a 26lb chinook and of course Crambone had broke one off :hoboy: We had decided to troll our way back to the take out and call it a day. We were right in front of the Fishin Hole and I got a take down, well it turned out to be a small jack, I was fighting this fish and it was out of the water more than it was in :shocked: At that point Crambone being the smart... he is says if that thing jumps one more time he is going to catch it in the net. Well there it goes again jumping in the air right next to the boat, and what does he do??? Nothing, what was that I heard you say? Crambone says if it does it again I will catch, then out of the water it comes and he reaches out and snags it right out of mid air. We had a real good year that year but I don't want to talk about 2002 and the Alsea :mad: . Crambone has been pestering me to sign in and quit lurking so I finally gave in and that is my story. I will be doing a lot of fishing with Crambone this winter so we will keep you posted. TIGHT LINES
