Hi,
I've been fishing for many years in Montana and now fish in the Portland Vancouver area. I belonged to the Lower Columbia Walleye Club years ago and was vice president for a while.
This looks like a a great web sight for fishers. Many people are open to answering questions and displaying lures.
About ten years ago I was in a walleye tournament with my son who was twelve at the time. On the second day of the tournament he caught a 7-8lbs. walleye which I knew would probably take 3rd place. When we returned to the dock I was given a large plastic bag to transport the fish to the scales. I was inexperienced at the time about how much water to put in the bag and filed it half way up after putting the fish inside. When I went to hand the bag to the person carring the fish it broke and the walleye dropped into the water and took off. After it happened I saw tears coming down from my son's eyes. My son & I went up to the tournament directors and told them what had happened. They gave my son a fishing pole knowing he would have probably won it if his fish had been weighed in. I have learned from this experience that a net is always put under any fish that gets carried to a weigh in at tournaments.
