It was the best Spring Chinook day I've ever had. I four guys that drove up yesterday from Vallajo, Ca to fish with me today and drive back down tomorrow. And boy were they rewarded big time!
Hooked 20 fish today!!!!! Landed 8 hatchery, released 7 unclipped and lost 5. We also had from five to eight other short strikes/takedowns.
It was increadable. Some of those short strikes would hit a back rod and then within seconds take down the next rod in line and be hooked up. We were even gettig a few line bumps.
As at it usually is, the last fish was the hardest to put in the box. We had seven, then it took three unclipped and several lost fish in the last couple of hours before we finally got that last keeper. Done at 3 o'clock.
