I headed back down the Columbia today and what a day, and it will only get even better!!!
We trolled herring in the morning on the flood tide but didn't have a touch, no one else did either. Then as the tide turned we headed to the anchor water at about 10:30. Just after eleven we put our first fish in the boat, a nice 20 pound "keeper". From then on it was our action kept rolling.
We ended up hooking ten but only getting five to the boat, still a great day. We had four hatchery and one unclipped.
Were we were at there was a group of bank anglers below us, 14 rods. And there were three other boats with three fishermand each. The bankies caught four, two were unclipped. The boat on our left caught one and lost one and the boat on our right caught one and lost one, both hatchery. A freind of mine fished about half a mile below me and they ended up getting three out of the four they hooked. All the fish from the boats were caught on Kwikfish and all the fish hooked from the bank were on spin-glows.
