We had seven takedowns and landed five springers today fishing the Columbia. Four of them were "keeper" hatchery fish. The one we released was a small fish of around eight pounds. It had a little, partial addipose fin, as if it grew back after a poor clip.
We had one fish on a K16 and all the rest on K15 Kwikfish w/sardines. We fished in 16 to 12 feet of water.
It's just getting started for the season and it will only get better. Oh boy!
