Yesterday, Dudley Nelson, Bill and I fished in some great "new-to-us" tidewater at first light.
It was a really good day. I can't tell you how many fish we landed, but since we don't need meat or eggs, we just had a hoot landing them and practicing catch and release, with Bill's new Hook Out tool. We don't even have to touch them! It's awesome!
We had one of those days where you just can't go wrong. Got them on bobbers and eggs, and Kwikfish.
Anyone could have caught as many fish as they would have liked yesterday! I swear I could have guided a trip and looked like a hero!  I love those days! You know, days when you have no time to stop and eat.. Just bait up and start playin' fish! Skill? Who needs it? Just grab a rod, and play!
I think our biggest was about 27 or 30. Didn't bring her in to weigh.
Went home, and tried to get things done. Started by taking Kilchis for a walk on the river, but MAN! The river was full of fish, so I just had to go grab a rod and try out back! Those fish were headed upstream, and by golly, they didn't have biting on their minds. But, man, were they active! Run! Run up the river! GOOOOOOOOOO! The back hole was like shark infested waters!
Today? Not so good. :depressed: We went down for an hour or so, and the water is back to low and clear, and that batch of fish that were just entering the system flushed on up, as far as we could tell.
I mean, we caught a couple fish, but nothing like yesterday!
Anyhow, have fun out there! There are fish scattered through out all Tillamook river systems. But, maybe after the rain, we'll have a good second flush? I can't WAIT!
With these smaller tides, I wonder how it is out near the ocean?
I guess it was rough today, and a friend of our landed walking herring by the jetty.
No report on the Ghost Hole. Anyone?
