I fished the Willamette at Oregon City today from about 11 to 2:30. We never touched a thing but did see four fish hooked, all appeared to be chinook. There were about two dozen boats out.
I saw one boat catch a chinook, to me didn't look like they looked too hard at weather it was clipped or not, they just put it in the boat and took off up river. About ten to fifteen munites later a fish came floating down the river from their general dirrection trying to live. I'm not sure if it was there's or not but it makes ya sick to see it happen.
The Clack is still on the rise as I right this (4:30) and it looks the color of pudding.. It'll probably fish in a few days and I would expect a good shot of steelhead to be in.
As far as the coast goes "BE THERE!" It shoule be awesome! The rivers came up about 2 1/2 feet and are now on the drop. This is what we have been waiting for!
I have Friday open if any one is interested, call me.
