Hello all,
Been reading your posts on here for a while, and thought I should join in on the conversation from time to time. My usual haunts are Drano, Wind R, Klickitat R, Hanford Reach. Just bought a new boat this year and am wanting to learn how to sturgeon fish next year. So hopefully will see some of you on the water.

Welcome aboard! graemlins/applause.gif

I graduated from high school in Selah, also lived in Ellensburg. I didn't know about local salmon and steelhead fishing when I lived up there. I hit the Yakima river for some football sized trout, and some whitefish. Also went to some Columbia backwater areas near Beverly for steelhead sized trout in November, but can't remember the name. Also fished local lakes.

A friend of mine caught and released a 26 pound steelhead while trout fishing with 8 pound line on the Naches River about 22 years ago. It was closed for retention of steelhead, so he was almost crying when he released it. Those were the days.

OK, here's a story... I bought a new 16' Smokercraft Osprey, first trip out this year, my dad smuggled some bananas onboard, once I found them and threw them out, it took us about 50 hours of fishing before the banana skunk finally wore off. Luckliy it wore off in a big way though, boat's first fish was a 28# springer from Drano, on a prawn spinner. The year only got better, ended up boating about 50 steelhead, and 5 more salmon, and 3 accidental sturgeon while salmon fishing in the Reach.

Welcome. But how about a little more of a story, or at least some of the poop about the new boat.
