Hi, I wanted to take my drift boat to the river tomorrow. I wanted to try a new float, locked gate to harmprin flats in the maupin area. my question is how difficult a float is this? any major rapids?

It's not bad, but you sure want to pull out at Harpam flats. Wapinitia Rapids and Box Car are the next key features below that and they aren't very DB friendly.
If you do the float make sure that you fish the run on the west side of the river just above H-FLATS, that was one of Don and Lola McClanes favorite spots. Pete is right if you are not REAL, REAL good on the sticks it would be best to take out at the flats.
