FEAR NO FISH!
11-02-2003, 09:55 AM
I caught my first salmon on March 1st down below Bonneville this year. 8 months later, I landed my last salmon at McNary. What a year! I have caught 3 salmon the last 2 nights pulling lighted Kwikfish! 48 steelies, 6 salmon in 26 night trips. Its snowing here in the Tri-Cities!

Make us hurt willya!

There are dangerously low fish warning alerts going on down here in the flatlands! I think the Wu-Tang and Garwe' need a fix! Yes, a ride in the magic chariot of the Yakazuma is needed! graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Congrats! Keep those cards and letters coming!

Nice Fish!!!
I'm in awe of those numbers.
My tally is 1 :depressed:
I guess you have to start somewhere.
That somewhere is going to be @McNary next weekend. graemlins/applause.gif graemlins/applause.gif
Hope to see you there.
I'll be breaking in my buddy and his practically brand new Northwest (blue). I only hope I'll be the first to bloody up his boat with another McNary Steelie.
Do you fish any deeper for the Nooks?
Thanks all your posts are awesome.

Tarponslayer,
We flatline all our plugs, 30-40 pulls. Superlines dive a little deeper. The fishing has been hot and cold. Last night we had three rips in 20 minutes. One nook, one nate steelie, and a driveby. Then the hell winds started up again. Blowing straight out of the north to the south. Makes for bad juju when that happens. I Will see you out there.

Fellow night traveller,

We were a few miles east, just above John Day Dam on the Washington side. Cruised from 6:00 PM until midnight, catching two for the effort. Easy fishing, as it is well lit by the dam, and has a good boat launch. We were the only ones there. Marked tons of fish.

Steve, I saw that crack about the Cheeseheads. graemlins/berry.gif Just got done watching the Packers spank the Vikings in Minnesota. Good thing that Favre had a broken thumb on his throwing hand or it would have been a real slaughter.

Nice fish, you're still my hero, in spite of you're being a Viking fan.

Warlord, of the slapaho klan, would welcome you on his warwagon. Southfork19 is supposed to come up and help in the steelhead frenzy this weekend, time will tell. If he does you might need to bring your own canoe. He wants to install disco lights in my ride.

Uh oh,
Looks like the crackers are making a spawning run. Southfork19, Looking forward to seeing you. We could stop at the Riverside peeler joint and see if any of the ladies would want to ride with us in the pimpmobile! Sounds like we might have a mini flotilla on our hands. Lets hope no monster steelies confuse us with a giant vortex. So do you other folks want to enter into some kind of friendly wager? If we could get Hogmassa and Fizzing is life to come up we could really have some fun. What do you say girls?

Dear Yakavamp,

I would luv to bring the secret Asian man and join you in a slime rocket slaughter of epic proportions but I have to exchange my chariot for one of those silver flying culverts on a trip to the land of Gates that are Golden on Sunday morning. graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Perhaps the Wu-man-chu can find another shotgunner to carry a Wu-Tang flag into your flotilla. Somebody would need to be awake on his platform!

Good luck, everyone, but watch out for that Moose Drool!!

FEAR NO FISH!

Some nights are like that. We have had 6 skunk trips out of 27. Don't place too much importance on a electronic gadget. Caught many a big steelie when the screen was blank! Full moon has been best for us the last 14 years. I see you posted at 12:31am, did you have curfew? Sometimes ya got to last em out. Need plenty of firewater.

Dampainter,
we're you running a kicker or electric. I've only had sucess on elect. and so slow that it just dosen't feel right, and my best hook ups came right when the battery bellied up. couple weeks ago we had every thing out and i had my son run the motor. he accidently put it in reverse. at that point we had two rips only one stuck but it goes to show how slow they like it....

steve,
just got kinda bored I guess, after four hours of not a bump. interesting about the electric versus a kicker, are you trolling electric too? I have also caught fish when the fish finder was blank, but that screen last nite was unreal! I will be back, possibly tonite. did you go last nite how`d you do?

FEAR NO FISH!

We hooked 2 and landed 1 on Wednesday night. I will be out tonight, Saturday and Sunday night.49 steelies, 6 salmon for 27 trips.Remember the old vortexes? They are working the best. They float while the new ones sink. They are wanting a bright light now.I refuse to deal with the old ones, although I will be making up about a half dozen for tonight!I only start my big motor at the end of the night to load, otherwise it is electric only. If you don't have an electric, kicker motors will work. Remember you can't be a instant gratification fisherman. Sometimes you just gotta outlast em, then the flurry will start.

Wanted to be a night owl but it just ain't in the cards since I am coming clear from the Seattle area. Will make it Sat AM though just above John Day. Heard of two caught using bobbers up next to the dam on the Washington side.
