The Clackamas is getting back to the low level I like. The color is great, but the temp is a little on the cold side. It's hovering around 38 degrees. I guess I've been spoiled by fishing on weekdays because there seemed to be quite a few boats on the water. I guess that's one plus to cold water, the motabolism of the fish is slowed down so that they aren't as spooked by the boat traffic. We caught fish out of water that had just been plugged by other driftboats and even ran over by sleds.
Oh, did I mention we got into some fish? Actually we hooked eight and landed six today, releasing three of them and keeping three. They seam to be spread out through the whole river. We drifted about ten miles of water and found fish from the beggining to the end.
There should be some good fishing coming up as we have good conditions and there should be more fish to come.
Over the last few weeks we have been getting bucks three to one. This tells me there are still a bunch of hens to come. All six of our fish today were hens. So, there should be a bunch of hens still coming.
I now have a couple of days open next week and a couple open the fallowing so if your interesed let me know.
