I fished the coast yesterday and ended up hooking two, landing one. It was a beautiful, mint bright, wild buck.
Both fish were hooked on plugs. The first one came in the third run we fished through, about 8:30. The sun was just breaking over the hill very bright. I was trying to keep my eye on all rods like I normally do but the left hand on rod was right in the sun. I looked away for a second and as I looked back there was no rod. It was pinned down and the rod holder poped down. Just as the one of the clients grabbed it but just as he did the fish came at the boat, boiled on top and spit the hook.
We fished a long, hard day and never came up with a sniff until almost three o'clock and we had a good solid slam. A Chromer, one of the prettiest of the year so far.
Well, back to one a day on the coast so it's back to the Clack tomorrow.
