Took 'Ole Dad on Sunday...He hooked and lost his 1st salmon in front of Drift Creek about 11:00am. It jumped straight out of the water right at the boat and shook the blue fox out! I've got it on video tape...nice fish, too! Saw another 6 caught. Should get better with the rain.

Just got back from there. Was slow and spotty with a exception of a few people who always seemed to put fish in their boats regardless. Here is my report of last week plus of fishing (latest date to earliest date).

Tuesday I was bobber fishing...nothing. Saw a guide boat put two in. I heard there was a bite down at Drift creek in the morning.

Monday was trolling...nothing. Was a bite at Drift creek in the morning (heard first person accounts of about 10 fish), then a bite at Ma and Pa's to old barn hole in the afternoon (first person accounts of 6 fish). I was in the wrong place both times (at Ma and Pa's in morning, at Drift creek in afternoon)...sigh.

Sunday was trolling...nothing. Bite down low, just a few fish.

Saturday was trolling...nothing. Bite down low, just a few fish.

Friday was trolling...nothing. Was there a bite??

Thursday was trolling...nothing. Was there a bite???

Wednesday was trolling, CAUGHT A 35# HEN...Nice and bright!!!!!! (hering). Was a bite up river (taylors on down) a few fish caught.

Tuesday was trolling...nothing. A few fish caught

Monday was trolling...nothing. Quite a few fish taken.

Sunday was trolling...nothing. Lots of fish, lots and lots of fish taken! Including a really nice 60# buck (saw it with my own eyes on the scale at Happy Landing.

Ok, how is that for a report. Too bad is shows what a lousy fisherman I am

Far as your nothing, nothing, nothing report, that is actually pretty typical for the Alsea. You will see a few [guides] who can produce, but most just feed the fish.

Went back again on the 9th and saw 3 caught, one right by Cozy Cove and the other 2 down at Silver bend. Pretty darn slow other wise.
