Here is a link to a story from a Seattle news station about a gill net.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Three dead seals were found in a derelict gill net that may have been floating in Chuckanut Bay, near Bellingham, for a month.
State Fish and Wildlife officers retrieved the net Saturday and found the seals, crabs and a dead cormorant -- a diving seabird. The net had been reported the day before by a kayaker.
Another abandoned gill net was found Sept. 8 on Little Squalicum Beach, and Lummi tribal official arrested a tribal member on suspicion of leaving an unattended net.
The net contained hundreds of dead fish, mostly pink salmon, and a few dead birds

Well, it would be great to view the article, but I'm not about to create an account on their site to do it. I see that KING TV in Seattle is owned by BELO, same group that owns KGW. Their websites look too similar, that was the first giveaway. I had an account on the KGW site, and they spammed me, even though my account profile said no spam. I confronted them, and they said they relied on advertising to keep their site profitable. You go to their site and you get popups galore. Can you say.....ANNOYING?
Funny, all their competitors seem to keep their sites afloat without resorting to these tactics....KGW, KING, when will you get a CLUE?
JUST SAY NO.

We were on the columbia this am up from the mouth of the Lewis and had 12 dead salmon float by over four hours. Then a little later a Gillnetter came by in his boat. ARGH!!! that makes me mad! They were either picking and choosing or had there limit, That is not right or fair. they should have to keep what they catch if it is a legal catch.
