Bill fishing for steelies in January... look at that river color! :smile:

I'm in the mood to remember what winter steelhead rivers look like. :smile:

The rain gauge is now at 69.59 and it's still pouring! The dogs won't even go out! I think finally, the river will start to rise! In fact, if you click here, (http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/Portland/public_gauge.pl?nwsli=TLMO3RP&dir=/Portland/public_hydro/) the Wilson is on the rise! Whoooo hooooooo! Will those salmon be at my doorstep soon?

CHUMS! I just watched a DVD with Herzog, fishing for chums, and that got me going! Chums on the fly! Salmon on a bobber, steelies on a jig!

It's like waiting for Christmas, but better! :smile:

It's never to early to start dreaming!

This was in January of 2000. Bill and I took Bill Madden down the Kilchis steelhead fishing. Steelhead fishing... remember steelhead fishing? :smile:

Do you have any winter fishing pics? Pictures of fish in the snow, wind, rain, sleet? :smile:

No snow but no sun either. This picture was in February when the Wilson was at 5.5 feet....a far cry from where it is today...1.8 feet.

my buddy jack (frost, that is) with his first (and sadly his last) winter steelie. this nate was released unharmed.

Marty, I love that snowy pic, and I love the March pic, and I love the snowman so much! How come I never thought of dressing my snowmen up as fishermen? :smile:
