I get the same fish stories when I call year round, so I don't call some of those unreliable sources any more.
"The river is full of fish, nows the time to come", when in reality there usually hasn't been a fish hooked in weeks. Sorry, but ifish is more reliable, then making a call to these coastal tackle shops north of Lincoln City and south of Tillamook.
I'm just wondering if people have started to pick up a few.
The ODFW site says, "NESTUCCA RIVER: Angling is fair to good for steelhead and spring chinook."
Now that's about as good as calling. Spring chinook has been closed for a while, they must have called some of those tackle shops too. graemlins/eek13.gif
It also depends on who answers the phone too. You might get a reliable report once in a while, but I can't risk the odds.
