I get the same fish stories when I call year round, so I don't call some of those unreliable sources any more.

"The river is full of fish, nows the time to come", when in reality there usually hasn't been a fish hooked in weeks. Sorry, but ifish is more reliable, then making a call to these coastal tackle shops north of Lincoln City and south of Tillamook.

I'm just wondering if people have started to pick up a few.

The ODFW site says, "NESTUCCA RIVER: Angling is fair to good for steelhead and spring chinook."

Now that's about as good as calling. Spring chinook has been closed for a while, they must have called some of those tackle shops too. graemlins/eek13.gif

It also depends on who answers the phone too. You might get a reliable report once in a while, but I can't risk the odds.

I was just over there this past weekend and it was very slow. We did manage one small chinook on a blade. It is getting better day by day. Fished the usuall spots guard rail, bridge, and the boat ramp. There has been about half a dozen fish a day. With cooler weather and better tides it should jump off.

Nesstucca
PC = Pacific City & Woods is an area near the Woods bridge on the Nesstucca.
Call Ron at Nesstucca Vallet Sporting Goods, he will know the latest!

You won't get that from Ron or Ray at Nestucca Valley. They will give you the straight scoop. There has been many times I have called down there and they told me I might want to wait a week or two.
