Might be a dumb question, but what is the deal with the red tint to the water on the lower columbia? Noticed several sections of water with it today. Couldn't figure it out.

Fishing was slow today. For all the boats I only seen a dozen or so fish caught. I can't see everything though so more were caught I'm sure.

Thanks
Kris

Could be one of two things... either you were downstream from the Carrot Crew ...or them rose colored glasses...That's all can think of
Tight lines

I saw the same thing on Saturday. I was told it was some kind of plankton. The bait fish were thick. The bite really turned on after the tide change. We hooked 14 fish and kept three Chinook. Released a Tule about 40lbs. Should get better and better  but more crowded. :depressed:

It's an algea bloom. We have been catching fish in it so don't let it discourage you.
