The weekend of doubt

Today I had three opportunities to go fishing and ALL three dropped out. Normally I wouldn't share this, but I have never had three opportunities fall through like this! :shocked:

1. Co-worker offered to take me out of Newport (I have never been ocean salmon fishing). They let me know yesterday no room in the boat.

2. Co-worker wanted to go sturgeon fishing. Said they would call Friday night. Never called.

3. Dad and I were going to hit the river for sturgeon (St. Helens). He ate a bad egg-salad sandwich and is needing to stay home. :sick:

I was considering hitting the ifishstock but by the time I had talked with my dad, it was too late to leave and make it.

So today I did yardwork, cleaned the garage and even did some laundry. Scored major wife points... :dance:

If my dad is feeling better we might go sturgeon fishing Sunday. I finally get a fish, and now I can't get a fishing buddy!

I feel your pain. I've had several instances where friends have backed out on me. Kinda makes ya mad. Worse than that is I had to take my boat back to the shop this morning because they did something wrong. Now I'm going to miss the whole weekend of fishing. Better yet these two days are my only ones off until the middle of september.

I know the feeling, I could not find anyone that was able to go out today either so i headed down to rooster rock and fished for some sturgeon there all day all alone hmmmmmmm wasn't so bad...... caught a few shakers a 38 that fought really hard and launched outta the water 2 times but other than that nothing much to brag about... maybe another day
