RockAway Beach Area

Hi,

heading out to stay in Rockaway this weekend. wondering if anyone could suggest places to fish nearby. Thinking sea bass, lingcod, anything that doesn't require a boat, or surf casting (no gear)

North jetty of tillamook bay at barview. This is about 2 miles south of rockaway.

any tips on how to fish (never jetty fished before. lures?, bait? how heavy a line to use? I have salmon rods and steelhead jogging rods)

do a search for jetty fishing, there has been a lot of discussion on this topic, or e-mail depoe bay dan, he's a wealth of info.

I know a guy who fishes off the beach at Rockaway for Surf Perch. He does well. He uses sandshrip tails.

Look for signs to nedonna beach between rockaway and wheeler (to the north). Road dead ends at a parking area at the Nehalem bay south jetty.
