According to Ron Byrd of Nestucca Valley Sporting Goods in Hebo, fishing is pretty quiet when it comes to the Chinook. Only one here one there has been caught. The jaws is open and there is very little pressure. More rain is needed to get the fish to move in.
Steelhead fishing is still good. Early morning and evening is best. Low clear water conditions make it very difficult and challenging.
Use Blue Fox spinners and Buds Spinners.
For Drift fishing, use corkies with pink yarn and sand shrimp oil.
Jig fishing use colors black with pink and black with purple.
Thanks,
Ron Byrd
