7/31/03 - fishing advice

unexpected day off tomarrow - I am in SE portland, and am looking for a quick trip. I have a fly rod ( 3 wt & 6 wt), fly vest and waders sitting in my trunk - I can take off early as I want. Got to be back by 6 pm, and ideas.

Hate to waste a day!

Deschutes. Redsides and steelies. Upper clack has some fairly decent trout fishing, but i'd hit the deschutes. Just bring plenty of water, it's a hot one out there.

You might want to grab a float tube and hit Hoodsport. The pinks are in right now and you'd have a blast with the 6 weight (even though it may be more fun with the 3 weight). Just remember the magic word - - - PINK! Good luck!
