Ocean Fishermen,
I would like to take my 20 foot NorthRiver sled over the CR bar tomorrow. The ocean conditions are predicted to be 5ft swells @ 8sec and 2ft wind waves. How comfortable would you feel in that boat, under those conditions?

5 foot swells at 8 seconds and 2 foot chop will be a wet ride.

There's a huge tide change from +8.2 at just after midnight to -1.8 feet at 8 AM. The bar will be rocking until late morning. Afternoon high is at 2:45 PM. Not much of a window for crossing comfortably. I bet they keep the small craft Advisory up tomorrow, too.

I gotta 19 foot inboard jet that I have taken out of the CR bar about 6 times. 5 and 2 with 8 seconds is a little uncomfortable for me. If the wind waves do not pick up then it doesnt sound so bad. I like making the run if I can do a bar crossing around first light and hit the salt and be done before nine, that way I avoid the wind chop and the ride stays pretty comfortable. Looks as if the tides arn't in your favor to this so I would probably sit this one out.

The tides aren't the best and with a forecast like that I wouldn't like doing it.
