Jen, I hope this isn't aginst the rules as Gary isn't a sponsor but he also does his work down at Lake Shasta.

On my annual drinkin/skiing trip to Shasta this year I booked a trip with Gary Miralles of Shasta Tackle. I would reccommend him to anyone looking for a trip on Shasta or Whiskeytown. Good knowledge, good gear, great guy. Genuinely nice guy - I had caught 20 or so fish in the 14 to 19 inch range and the bite was slowing when we heard on the CB a conversation between another boat on the water and their camp. These guys were getting skunked and the camp was complaining about not having fish for dinner, really givin em a hard time. We were the only boat in the area and were very happy with how our day had gone so Gary gets on the radio and lets the guys know where the fishing is good and other needed info such as tackle/depth/speed etc. They came over and ended up with trout for dinner. Needless to say they were blown away that a guide would offer so much help and I was impressed too. Fishing is not a competition, it doesn't hurt to help others out, especially when you have had a great day.

If you're in the area Gary Miralles at Shasta Tackle is a great choice. Oh Yeah - for those who like bananas he allows them on his boat!

Gary Miralles also stands behind his fishing gear.
Nerta wore grooves in the eyes of his kokanee rod and they were replaced rapidly.
