We went out at Tongue Point yesterday, man what a beautiful day.
Got out at 5:30, flat water all day, no wind, got a bit warm in the afternoon, but a super day.
Oh, the fishing was a notch below poor. Only 2 shakers until 10:30, only 7 or 8 between 10:30 and 2, 3 rods out, We tried everything, 8ft up around marker 3, 75 ft around the point and every depth between. Musta moved 15 times.
Oh well, we'll get em next time.

I'll be out there sunday. Sounds like we'll have to find those critters. They can't hide for long!

I was down there out of John Day 6/3&6/4. We fished at the mouth of JD southeast of the marker in 45 ft. of water on the out going tide. We used smelt and got our fish both days. Maybe luck?

Thanks for the report. With the influx of anchovies and sardines into the estuary, it sometimes spreads the fish out a lot and they run in smaller groups than normal. Sounds like you had a good day on the water nonetheless. Nothing better than a calm day on the water.

I fished down there today and yesterday. Put in at John Day on Thursday. Slow in the am but incoming tide the bite came on. Fished below the bridge today. Less fish caught but only one shaker. Hot bite in the am. Big fish!
