The river temperature is rising ... near 62 last time I checked. There are lots of fish in the river, below the falls, based on the differential between the anticipated run size and the count at the falls. But the bite is more work this time of year. I wouldn't say the season's over, but I would expect to work a little harder for the fish ... try different tactics, rotate through your techniques until something seems to work!

I was in a boat that caught a 38 pounder one year (a year that had a much smaller run, I might add) on the July 4th weekend. It's still worth it. Spinners, baby!

Like geek said, its a spinner show, picked two up on monday on a green spinner in 16ft of water. My buddy on tuesday goes 2for4 w/ one hitting the 30lb mark.. Of course he was out there for 10HRS!! graemlins/idea.gif

Fish-on,

By the numbers, the spring Chinook are still going up the Willamette to the tune of 1500 per day.
