I would like to take my dad on a two day drift boat float/camping trip. I'm willing to fish pretty much any river in Oregon if its worth the drive. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

John Day for smallies. Deschutes for trout.
JD is a quiet place in comparison to the D. Especially when the rafters are out and about.

I agree with mark, check out the JD, less technical water than the deschutes. Check the search under warmwater fish and look up John day river for more details. You might consider running the same stretch each day, the first day, you learn the river and where to find the fish, the next day, you know it much better and catch more fish.
