Ah.... The Yakima, my home river... Do I dare give away my hot spots? Well since I live in Portland now I will! A tried and true spot is Chandler Pump Station in between Benton city and Prosser... Hike down the hill start a good fire and drown a Stinky Crawler. The biggest I have ever got out of there is a 7lb channel.. tons of bullhead\yellowbellies. Next go to Horn Rapids in W-Richland.. Tons of good catfishin' The best spot I know is in Prosser under the bridge in town, Just below the dam... or under the Catwalk 50 Yards down from the bridge... The best way to fish this is use an old spark plug and chicken liver  Or cast a #2 Mepps spinner, let it sit on the bottom and gig it... No joke.. My dad showed me that when I was 8 years old! The bridge and the catwalk are the 2 deepest holes in that river trust me.. and good luck..

Ah the Yakima that takes me back, I think you got some good advice as to were to go so I won't add to it but I just have to say that the chicken liver always seemed to work best for me.

Can you tell me if there is any places in the city area, like the sportsman's park area or the river? I will have limited time in the city for a bowling tourney   and my freinds are interested in some catfishing.
Thanx again.

Fishncliff, most of the catfishing is done in the slower water from Prosser down. I don't think there is any catfishing in the river around Yakima it self, as the river flows to fast.
Too bad the Yak is closed to Spring Chinook fishing this year, as they are in the area your talking about bigtime. :depressed:
