I will be picking up my new boat in a month and a half, and the trailer will have brakes. I was wondering if any ifishers out there know where I can get a brake controller installed at a reasonable price. I would try to do this myself but with my vehicle there are a few extra steps(extra wires)etc. I would also like it mounted so the wires are concealed, and mounted out of the way... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Thanx!

Steelhedslayer,
Your trailer is coming with electric brakes? They sometimes use surge brakes rather than electric. No brake controller is needed with the surge brakes. Might want to confirm that they are electric.
If you have a newer GM model, they are pretty much wired for the electric brake controller if it has a tow package. They just need to mount the control inside the cab and another piece under the hood. The wires are already in place.

I have electric brakes on my boat trailer. he controller took all of 15 minutes to install on my 1999 F-250.
Most camper places will do it in a day. It shouldn't be too expensive either. What model and year is your truck?

I believe you can get them installed a u-haul. And as far as having the wiring all conceled you can do what I did when they wired the lights on my truck. I stood right next to them when they did the work and had the wiring supported and conceled the way I wanted it and they didn't charge any extra for the extra materials over and above what they normally do.
