Way to go Pilar, Pilar's Mate, and everyone involved as well as to Bill Monroe for getting it mentioned in the Oregonian.
From this mornings Oregonian,
Snagged net: Oregon State Police are trying to decide what to do about a runaway gill-net discovered wrapped around a wing dam in the Columbia River near Clatskanie.
At least one dead sea lion appears to be entangled in the mesh.
Anglers reported it, State Police Lt. Steve Lane said.
He said, however, that the net is wrapped around portions of the wing dam pilings where the river's current is too strong to approach.
"It's not something that we want to risk anyone's life over," Lane said.
Police and marine sheriff's deputies also are at a loss for a solution to an apparently submerged net or cable in a section of river closer to Chinook Landing at Fairview.
