Has anybody made an anchor system for their drifter? If so where did you find the pullys? Home depot and Lowes is where I have checked with no luck!

Hello Fast Action:
I work with Dierks (Lange Productions) who make almost all of the of the anchor release systems. For well under $100 you can purchase the equipment at Fishermans Marine Supply. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to install the system. The new anchor systems have nylon rollers which sould last you a life time and I suspect be much easier to pull than a home made system. The owner of Dierks (Phil Lange) was the production manager at Willie Boats and he is an avid drift boater & fisherman.

A 100$ seems kinda steep for 3 pullys and 6$ cleat :hoboy: my current system is't the best but it works... I am looking to make it so I can run a kicker as well... I am fairly creative, I just cant find the right pullys!

Dear Fast Action:
If you do not need the stern anchor release (the arm)the cost is very low. You can buy the pulley set or indivual pulley blocks and indivual jam cleat at Fishermans. I believe these are about $7.00 each. You would then need to make the arm for the stern achor release in order to get the anchor away from the boat.
I may know of a used anchor system that a guide (who advertises on IFish) is changing out soon. Please contact me if you are interested.

I think that you get what you pay for, I always want something that is going to last and not look like it was just slapped together. I like the dierks myself but I guess it depends on your budget.
Just my opinion.

Best Fishes: I was over at Fishermen's last week looking for some nylon pulleys for a friend to replace his old alum. ones on his Fishrite. They no longer carry just the pulley without the alum. housing, too. Do you know where he can get just the nylon pulleys?
Thanks,
Please e-mail me direct with the subject as pulleys so I will recognize it. That sort of thing is difficult to locate over here.

My DB is a Hyde fiberglass model and has a forward deck. I put a small chock on each side of the bow right at the point and a jam cleat on the deck in front of the knee hole.
Works for us! graemlins/idea.gif

The stern anchor is a foot release setup. The line runs from the foot release (a jam cleat would work)through a tube under the seat and up to the transom where there are two wheel type pulleys on a braced aluminium arm. This set up is pretty clean. graemlins/idea.gif
