Mr. Fisherman is on the scene now and cannot find the seal killing gillnet.
Gun Rod Bow? Is there anyway to get you to go back there and GPS the damn thing? Or did maybe someone go out there and remove it?
Gun Rod Bow, call me and I'll patch you through to Ray. Maybe you guys can figure out where it is by working together.

Check your phone messages John.
GRB is fishing with Jeff of the I wanna be like Jeff fan club. I left you Jeffs phone number on your answering machine, so Ray can call Jeff and Jeff can hand the phone off to GRB.
I cant imagine the netters didnt hear about this on ifish and went out and removed the net and seals already. :depressed:

Maybe the OSP investigated, found it to be a hazard and called some netters to help get it removed.

I tried the OSP and got voicemail.
In Ray's words 'This place is gillnet central, we were in their backyard'.
Even the bucket was gone from the really tall post. So the possibilities are either it was removed or the location not found.
In any case the mystery net is 404.

Yes, it appears that Elvis has left the wing dam.
We looked high and low but saw no evidence of a net. There were two gill net boats in the area. One had personel out on a wing dam walking on it and apparently working on something but by the time we got close enough to make them out clearly they had left the pilings and anchored below. They weren't tying up to the wing dam so what were they doing? Who knows.
In any case the net and float are nowhere to be found. Perhaps the Coast Guard or the OSP cleared it.
We did see about 10 fish caught and Crazyfish had the pleasure of a drive by. Ask him about Premature E-Crack-U-Lation  graemlins/applause.gif
More on that later, to be sure....

I was there with Ray and it's not there. We checked out the whole area and any place that it would show, but nothing.
Knowing that OSP has known about this net since Wed. it didn't surprize me to not find it, since it could have been a major hazard especially if it broke lose on it's own.

I did, however, find a torn towing cover :depressed:
Anybody know a good repair shop for canvas?
I could use a number and a recomendation as I need to get this fixed and back in place ASAP.

Ray made mention of seeing a gillnet boat down by a wing dam apparently walking on it. maybe they were removing the evidence... He ran down to check it out but by the time he got down there they were motoring off...
