i fish there quite often in the summertime. i generally fish the area between mehama and shelburn, and i have had some success throwing spoons or drifting corkie and yarn. i know fishing for natives in the winter can be good, esp. with bobber/jig combos. maybe we should hook up some time and i'll show you a few of my tricks. i'll row if you provide lunch. good luck and see you on the river.

The water has been up pretty well, but the dam spillwats were closed last night so it looks as if the water will be coming down...

Right now I would be fishing from Greens Bridge down to the Willamette. Either diver and bait, jigs or my favorate, corkie and sand shrimp tail.

The lower on the river the better.

Vandal and 4Reel, See you on the river tomorrow. I'll be heading down early in the morning. A buddy and I are going to try to get out ahead and do some fishing on the first section which we know and fall in with the group for the Shelburn run.

Catch some fish!

I did the "Learn the River Trip" today from Stayton to Shelburn. 2 for 2 on a peach and white Sy's Jig. Whenever my film is developed I will post. Stay left to avoid the log jam.

Hey Big Tuna. Was on the trip too. What a day huh? Didn't expect to be "winter" fishing this deep into Spring. Good to hear someone got into fish. We mostly did a side drift thing to get us down river quickly. Didn't touch a thing. Nice trip though, dispite the weather. My friends and I were in a green/white clacka'. Probably saw you. Nice bunch of fella's runnin the river. I'll e back next month for the next run. Maybe run into you. Later

Hit my favorite little hole for a bit today and long line released one nice shaking steelie. Along with a buddy's premature release cause I had the dang pole in the way... Color is looking great, and the weather looks to be cooperating... Was fishing a pink worm below an orange spin-n-glo.

Talked with a gent from fish and wildlife. Seems the run is supposed to be bigger this year by great margins. The hatchery people are going to have two fellas revolving to check the catch... He said a guy in Mill city caught 2 nice nates at or near the beds below the bridge. Said they were reaction strikes from what he saw.
