I have fished every day for the last two weeks and according to my notes i have seen (on Average) 7 fish caught per day in my immedeate vacinity, with over 15 fish caught today in the mouth of the clack (where i was): none for me!
I have NEVER caught a salmon out of anywhere except for those 2 i got from Herman creek a few years back. None from the columbia, none from the wilammette..EVER!!! :hoboy:
I have been averaging (since i have been in school the last 4 yrs) 2 trips a week, every week.
Is there some fundamental's that i missing here??: here is what i know.

A) salmon smell humans
B)salmon hug the bottom
C) salmon like spinning herring lower in the columbia and spinning prawns at the mouth of the CLack
D)Salmon like chartruse quick-fish
E) Salmon like boily water
F) Salmon like to be caught by
Dave Jonhson
Fishin Misson
Fishin XTC
and that Guy two boats down from me who has, EVERY TIME, caught 3-5 fish a day out of the mouth of the Clack EVERY DAY i have seen him which has been 4 times this week alone....

This is a retorical self cathartic post... i am not really looking for a response

Cheers

Anchor next to me you are sure to be catching fish while I am sitting there watching. trust me it works for most other boats and even can extend 1 hog line in either direction of me while I get Zip.

ORS...you are like a Indy Car driver stuck in traffic on I-5. You are probably doing everything right, BUT, the old addage...

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

The guy two boats down is probably doing the same things you are. The difference is he knows where the fish want to be.

I know you are only half-kidding, but I understand cause I have been there and even now, find myself doing the same thing on occassion.

Figure out where the fish want to be, and be there. (It may not be the spot two boats over, rather the same channel/depth they are running 100 yards down river. You will catch fish with what you are doing! Just BELIEVE!

OldRedSled - You forgot one:
G. Salmon don't like you!

Take 5-cents up on his offer. You just need a to get your mojo back. Maybe Chris can give your K-fish one of his little "clinics". Can't hurt!
