RichH and I were awarded the opportunity to help out the Tillamook ODFW, Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation and Native Steelhead of the Wilson River at this years Steelhead Round up. We were treated to rib separating meals provided by Herb Good & crew, great tips & stories by the guides and an all around good time.
We fished with Chris Vertopoulos of Northwest Angling Experience (http://www.northwestanglingexperience.com) and had a BLAST. Chris and all the guides were personable, good humored guys with the attitudes that ensured a great trip.
Rod and the rest of the Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation Crew know a GREAT cause when they see one! Thanks for the great time and the introduction to the broodstock program. I have already talked with Tillamook ODFW and have my livewell ready...See you on the river!
I would like to thank Jennie for the contest forum and Kinebra for the generous donation which allowed Rich and I to enjoy this trip. I plan on participating very actively in the Broodstock program as a result. This will be a very sucessfull program to benefit the rivers, fish, and sportfishing.
Chris was kind enough to take a picture of me with my 10lb broodstock hen I got to take home. I really wish we would have gotten a picture of the wild hen & buck that we put into the hatchery program, because they are the real prizes.
