Hey anybody catching and fish in the government island ares. thought about giving it a shot on sunday. in help appreciated
smeltman, In past years, havn't been up there yet this year, we anchor in front of the yacht dock in 16'-20' of water and run kwick fish, spinners or mag warts. If the tide isn't running good troll in 15'-17'. There's alot of water up there so it's easy to find a spot to fish, even on the weekend.
Good Luck!

I fished yesterday down at government Island until about 10:30 before moving up to Reed Island. I did not see a single take down all day. Until about 2:00 pm below Reed Island.

reed island is the island that is up river from camas wa. like if you were going from camas boat ramp to rooster rock the island is at the bend in the river on the washington side

Reed Island is aproximately 6 1/2 miles upriver of Chinnook landing or 3 mile upstream from the mouth of the Sandy! According to GPS

Fished 205 from 6:00AM to 6:30PM. It was an all weather day, with the west wind really picking up at sundown! We saw a half dozen boats drop out and were happy to have a 21#er to take home with us. It's been all native nooks to the boat for us up until yesterday. We enjoyed sharing the water with Jet and had an all around great time on the water.

I was a great day for us as well. Releasing the 30# nate was second best to being able to keep it. You and Ken are alway welcome to fish next us us any time especially when you are serving the homeade Wild Boar Brots.
Here is a picture of your fish on the boat. It is hard to tell just how nice this fish when your fishing on a 24' boat, all fish look small on a barge like that.
