Back in January of 2001, ODFW announced its Sandy River Basin Reccomendations. As is typical with this organization's lack of information campaign, it is difficult to determine what numbers have been adopted. I know this has been a hotly contested report, but has there been any resolution ? Winter sttelhead limited to 160,000 releases, no summer steelhead release, 120-200 K coho, and 300K springers were the posted numbers at the time. The most current Hatchery Management Policy and Guidelines ( a draft form from Dec 2001 ) doesn't shed any light oin this issue. A draft from 2001! How do these hatchery managers know how many fish to raise? :whazzup:
