I have to say, Im not a firm believer in all the different colors of Kwickies, although they look cool. Im a standard kind of guy, My #1 choice is all chrome, but with a lot of teeth marks all over it, lol. Ive caught my share and I love my size 15 chromies, even though my wifes favorite is the funcky chicken color, go figure.Im not saying that color does'nt make a difference just not as much in the Columbia,in my opinion. I think the most important thing is balance and weight, your cut on the sardine is critical and the slightest imperfection in the wrap, could cost ya about a 30 pound loss in your account to the Columbia. Have you ever had a plug that just kicks butt, then you lose it and none ever work the same even if they look alike. Well the reason is they are not a like. Get yourself a fine scale and make sure everthing on each lure is the same size, quicksnap, split rings, and hooks, even the inlet screws, going into the body of the plug. Weigh your favorite plug and record its weight, then weigh the new plug, same color, probably the weight is different. Usually heavy, you can buy suspendots for the new lure and play with the way it works, till it works right for you. I know a few years ago, if you bought storm wiggle warts, you better look on the back and see if its made in mexico or the U.S. The U.S. will outfish the mexico made everytime, go figure. Well just thought Id give ya something to think about, good luck.
