I was reading uglygreen's thread on Bradford island and i had a couple of questions? Do I need a huge meat rod or will my medium heavy work? How much weight do I need to keep it down? Should i use bait? What exactly is a Willammette Special that he was talkin about? Sorry for all the Q's just never done that type of fishin and thought I'd give it a try on monday!

Orrrrr..........If anyone wants someone to tag along with them on Monday would love to keep you company! Thanks Jason!

steelies r us, there are many threads on this subject, so you should be able to find a ton of info by doing a search with topics like plunking or plunking rod.

to give you a short answer, the longer the rod the better imo, (10 to 12 ft that will handle 6 to 20 oz of lead). the weight really depends on the current flow and the bottom structure, but 10 to 20 oz is a good guide line. UG posted several pictures, so i don't see how you could miss that. go back and take another look.

also, some of it is in trial and error, so just go and get your hand dirty.
