So, it isn't in the back yard exactly, but these do run within 700 feet of the front door, and the trap is about a mile from the house... http://www.ifish.net/uploads/58061968.jpg these are from the summer of 2001

That picture is pure ectasy. Whenever I'm at those fish traps looking at all those fish I always think, "man, that would be so fun just to drop my line in there". By the way, where exactly was that pic taken?

Now that it a bit warmer how about what seems like 10,000 frogs in the pond.
I had a 3 point bull elk in the back pasture. I'll see if I can find the pictures.
Plenty of bear scat. Deer, ducks, geese from time to time. 200 + yards of the Tualatin river.
And recently a skunk has been making it's rounds.

We have a relly great herd of elk across the river. Last year we counted 44 cows and calves. The herd bull was a nice 5x5 last year, but we think he was harvested. There are several smaller bulls running the ridges from monument peak to rocky top. Coming from the mid-west where it isn't uncommon to see 40 white tail in a field, it was really awesome to see all the elk... Maybe one year, I'll be lucky enough to cross paths with one during season..

Sandhill cranes and geese in the back; eagles in the front yard cottonwoods; and I think I hear some springers sneaking by...
