I know that lots of debris, ie leaves, bother steelies and nooks up in the rivers. Does tons of debris effect the springer bite on the Columbia and the Willamette the same way? Debris like entire trees and tons of drift wood?

I think it only messes with the bite if you have to move off your anchor becase treezilla is heading your way

I think the TP and "brown trout" turn off the bite for the Willamette fish.

Other than that if there is a lot of debri catcing on your line it is going to drag it up from the bottom and away from the fish or mess up you hook.

So they don't get spooked by all the stuff coming down at them? How much of that debris would you say is being read as fish on the fishfinder?

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I think most of the "fish" people "see" on their fishfinder is debri, turbulance and bubles.

Back when I was a fish checker for the state I always had people coming in and complaining about all the fish they saw on the screan that weren't biting. Every once in a while they would say how the fish were stacked up at three to six feet.

I would just look at them and say, "Don't you think you could look over the side and see them if they were three feet down?" It's called turbulance off the anchor rope :hoboy:
