I was up in Woodland on Sunday afternoon. They are still dipping behind the Texaco station. Looked like they were still doing OK.

Jack Glass called this morning and said the smelt are about gone on the sandy...very few around I-84 bridge on west. Does someone know more from today?
Lewis has some at the Texaco (mostly on the other bank, though) and down at the mouth.
Cowlitz has some near Gearhart Gardens, down by the first Longview exit from I-5, I think...

I was in Longview/Kelso yesterday and as I drove over the old green bridge across the Cowlitz I could see half a dozen smelt dippers around the Longview water works intake 100 yds upstream on the westside......about noon. Didn't see if they were getting many......but only got a 5 second look as I drove past.

i was talking to a friend yesturday and was told that there was another burst of fish that went up the river, but dont know how big

west side of the river behind wendys seems to be the hot spot

another good spot is down river by the mouth by reynolds metals its quite the walk and the fun part is carrying a 20# bucket of smelt out .but if you need them its worth the trip
