Is there any bank spots on the Washington side of the river? I am hoping to get my six year old into a springer. Of course, if I caught one that would be a bonus! I guess I could buy a daily OR license and help the cause and fish on Prescott beach.

pu-rvr-fishr, I can think of two spots that have fairly easy access and a place for a six year old to while away the time between bites. One is Willow Grove Park just down from Longview and the second is County Line Park about halfway to Cathlamet. If your familiar with the area, they are easy to find. If not, just ask for directions and someone, if not me, will get you there. Good Luck, SS.

How is this stretch of river going to be if we get the amount of rain we are supposed to later this week? Especially the piece of water further west. Was thinking about a Saturday trip but dont want to drive that far (2+ hours) if conditions are going to be marginal.

You could fish the kalma bar . Just take the Kalma exeit and go south pass the boat basin and go to the RV park and over the bank to the river

In my experience, the Columbia's condition depends on what the Cowlitz and the Willamette are doing. If they don't blow, should be fine. Fir the west piece, the Cowlitz is the big risk.
